La ceremonia, que tuvo lugar en el hotel Berverly Hilton y estuvo conducida por el cómico Jerrod Carmichael, intentó recuperar el prestigio y notoriedad perdidos tras el boicot masivo del pasado año, donde los Globos de Oro se celebraron a puerta cerrada y sin retransmisión en directo ni alfombra roja, lo cierto es que la gala que hasta hace tan solo unos años estaba considerada como la antesala de los Oscar, estuvo marcada por la ausencia de muchos de los galardonados.
‘Los Fabelman’ y ‘Almas en pena de Inisherin’ han triunfado en la 80.ª edición de los Globos de Oro. Una gala en la que ‘Argentina 1985’ ganó el Globo de Oro a la mejor película de habla no inglesa y en la que ‘Colegio Abbot’ destacó con tres premios entre las series de televisión.
